Matthew Edward Billings

Matthew Edward Billings, age 23, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, September 24, 2016. Matthew was born November 30, 1992 in Surry County to Brad Steven and Michelle Dew Billings.

Matthew was a graduate of NC State University and volunteered for many organizations. He was a Process Engineer with Pittsburg Glass Works and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Matthew was survived by his parents, Brad and Michelle Billings of Elkin; brother, Carson Billings of Elkin; maternal grandparents, Pat and Jerry Witt of State Road and Eddie and Brenda Dew of Wilkesboro; paternal grandparents, Stoney and Peggy Billings of Taylorsville and Mary Josephine Sheperd of Bennettsville, SC; aunts, Robin Faw of State Road and Christian Singletary of Jonesville; cousins, Kaitlin Faw, Kari Faw, Kaylee Faw, Marcus Singletary, Mary Gail Singletary and Mollie Singletary; and his best friend, Cody Brown.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Matthew believed in the gift of organ donation and gave of himself so others may live.
