Mary Margaret Patterson Wheeler

Mrs. Mary Margaret Patterson Wheeler, age 65, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016.  Mrs. Wheeler was born in Surry County on January 10, 1951 to Wade Odell and Kathlene Simpson Patterson.

Margaret retired from Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church.  Margaret was active in the church choir and sang in the community chorus for many years.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Patterson.

Survivors include:  Her husband, Tommy Wheeler of the home, two sons, Shane Wilkins of Jonesville, Dusty Wilkins and wife Tonya of Elkin, a daughter, Sarah Martin of Elkin, a brother, Thomas Wade Patterson and his wife Karen of Greensboro, six grandchildren, Lakan Wilkins, Cass Wilkins, Kali Brooks, Walker Wilkins, Jessica Martin, Eric Martin, one great grandchild, Layla Bennett.

A memorial service will be held Saturday September 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Elkin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Taylor and Rev. Dale Walker officiating.  The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to the Elkin Presbyterian Church Organ Fund 151 Hillcrest Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
