Rex Oliver Stanley

Mr. Rex Oliver Stanley, age 57, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016. Mr. Stanley was born December 29, 1958 in Wilkes County to Albert Dean and Virginia Dare Richardson Stanley.
Rex was a member of Deliverance Baptist Church. He worked as a prison guard at Wilkes County Correctional Center and was a retired officer for the North Wilkesboro Police Department.
Survivors include: his wife Sheila Jo Gray Stanley of the home; brother, Randy Stanley and wife Rosa of McGrady, Bobby Stanley and wife Dottie of N. Wilkesboro and Tim Stanley and wife Lisa of N. Wilkesboro; brother-in-law, Jody Gray of Arizona; nieces & nephews, Eric Stanley of N.Wilkesboro, Kim Ferguson of Ferguson, Brandi White of South Carolina, Chris Stanley of N. Wilkesboro and Seth Gray of Arizona; great-nephews, Leland Ferguson of Ferguson and Aiden Stanley of N. Wikesboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Johnny Arnold and Rev. Robert Wiles officiating. Burial will follow at Deliverance Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
