Sarah Robinson Williams

Mrs. Sarah Robinson Williams, age74, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Mrs. Williams was born August 20, 1941 in Gaston County to Robert Lee and Elise Lewis Robinson.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church. Sarah received her teaching degree from East Carolina University and retired as a teacher at Mountain Park Elementary School where she was teacher of the year two times.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Davis Williams and sister, Lois Wallace.
Survivors include: her son, Robert David Thrift of Elkin; daughter, Ame Hubbard of State Road; brother, Bobby Robinson and wife Maudie of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Megan Hodges, Victoria Tilley, Dawson Payne and Natalee Payne; beloved dog, Checkers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
