Dan Johnson

Mr. Pozzy Daniel Johnson, age 82, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Johnson was born December 17, 1933 in Wilkes County to James Ovid and Ella Matilda Spicer Johnson.
Pozzy was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Center Baptist Church. He also served on the Board of Directors of Pleasant Hill Fire Department.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Daniel Johnson and sisters, Marie Johnson and Attaree Billings.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Weaver Johnson of the home; son, Jeffrey Allen Johnson and wife Emily of Thurmond; brothers, Leonard Johnson of Thurmond, Bill Johnson and wife Jean of Thurmond, Kenneth Johnson and wife Phyllis of Thurmond and Archie Johnson of Ronda; sister, Kathleen Adams of State Road; grandchildren, Joey Johnson, James Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Emmy Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Josiah Johnson and Jace Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Center Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Gilreath and Rev. Benny Adams officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the National Honor Guard in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
