Dale Brooks

Mr. Roby Dale Brooks, age 72, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Mr. Brooks was born June 24, 1943 in Alleghany County to Walter Samuel and Carrie Mae Spicer Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a past member of Cedarbrook Country Club and spent many hours each week volunteering at Thurmond Community Center. Mr. Brooks retired from R.J. Reynolds Archer Division after 38 Years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Wilson and brother, Charles Alvin Brooks.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, DeAnna Simmons Brooks of the home; daughter, Kristi Sprinkle and husband Jonathan of Elkin; son, Michael Charles Brooks of Charlotte; grandchildren, Braden Sprinkle, Whitney Sprinkle and Julia Brooks; sister, Cordelia Moxley and Gray Stoker of Wisconsin; nephew, Andy Wilson and wife Patty; nieces, Jeanette Moser and Becky Boyer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Jerry Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
