Dorothy Elizabeth Southard

Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Southard, age 75, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Southard was born October 30, 1940 in Surry County to Willie and Daisy Brown Chipman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Curt Chipman and Otis Chipman; sister, Frankie Shaffner.
Survivors include: her husband Windell Southard of the home; son, Todd Southard and wife Lisa of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Mollie Southard and fiancé David Sapp and Nicklaus Southard and fiancé Kristen LaPrade; brothers, Charles Chipman and wife Barbara of Jonesville, Bobby Chipman and wife Sandy of Yadkinville, Tommy Chipman and wife Elaine of Boonville, Carl Chipman and wife Susan of Lake Norman and Cecil Chipman and wife Sue of State Road; sisters, Lola Key and husband Buddy of State Road, Jane Darnell and husband Albert of State Road and Betty Gentry and husband Dalin of Jonesville.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Trent Wall and Rev. Kenny Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
