Barbara Ruth Melven

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Melven, age 75, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Mrs. Melven was born May 12, 1940 in Hyannis, Massachusetts to Delmar and Ruth Long. Mrs. Melven was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Edward Dembowski and brother, Delmar Long. Survivors include: her husband, Donald Melven of the home; son, Bernard Dembowski of Lexington, NC; step-sons, Michael Melven and wife Diane of Attica, NY and Giovanni Melven and wife Cindy of Elkin; daughter, Brenda Dembowski of Roaring River; brothers, Thomas Long and wife Diane of Pompano Beach, FL and Robert Long and wife Irene of Linenhurst, NY; grandchildren, Jacob Glover of Wilkesboro, Allyson Triplett of Kernersville, Kaylee Melven of Batavia, NY, Kristie Melven of Virginia Beach, VA, Ryan Adams of Elkin and Jordan Melven of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Victoria Triplett, Khloe Notter and Madison Notter. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Springs United Methodist Church with Rev.
