Inez Caudle Kidd

Mrs. Inez Caudle Kidd, age 89, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Kidd was born January 7, 1927 in Wilkes County to Barney and Sarah Harris Caudle. Mrs. Kidd was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a devoted Christian and a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and flower committee member.  Mrs. Kidd was an avid gardener, quilter, canner and cook and a member of the Surry County Autism Support Group.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gratsie Kidd, brothers, Albert Caudle, Marvin Caudle, Elmer Caudle, Willie Caudle, and Frederick Caudle; sisters, Rosa Gentry, Eula Stevenson and Elerice Wagner; and son-in-law, Robert Lee Hinson.
Survivors include: her daughters, Greta Gay Kidd Hinson of Elkin, Maria De’Neane Kidd and Billy Watson of Elkin; grandchildren, Angella Susan Howard and her husband Brandon, William Gratsie Kidd II; and great grandchildren, Tyler Reid Howard, Robert Brandon Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Jonah Parker, Rev. Jerry Fugate, and Rev. Scott Hammer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
