Oma Kathryn Sloop

Mrs. Oma Kathryn Sloop, age 84, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Chatham Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. Sloop was born June 20, 1931 in Surry County to Charlie Wilson and Dorothy Jean Swaim Haynes.
Mrs. Sloop was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Alexander Sloop; daughter, Cynthia Sloop Hutchens; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: her daughter, Amy Sloop Nelson of Elkin; brother, Charles Haynes and wife Kathryn of Raleigh; grandchildren, Greg Sloop, Allison Reid, Brian Wood, Richi Wood, April Wood and Bradley Hutchens; eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
