Sylvia Lucille Combs

Mrs. Sylvia Waddell Combs, age 88, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, February 05, 2016 at Wake Forest Medical Center. Mrs. Combs was born June 16, 1927 in Wilkes County to Freel and Mary Soots Waddell.

Mrs. Combs retired from Ronda chair factory and Tyson Foods.  Mrs. Combs was a member of Ronda Church of God, where she attended regularly as her health allowed. She loved nothing more than spending time with her beloved family and though the last years were challenging, her motto was “thank you Jesus, for another day”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Combs and Dale Combs, and four brothers, Garvey, Robert, Albert, and Jimmy Waddell.

Survivors include: her husband of seventy years, Robert Combs of the home, three sons, Donald Combs of Mt. Airy, Michael Combs and wife Diane and Darrell Combs and wife Carolyn all of Ronda, three daughters, Brenda Combs Bauguess and husband Steven, Janice Combs and Glenda Narez and husband William all of Ronda, two sisters, Shirley Foster and Margie Foster both of Ronda, 13 grandchildren several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Ronda Church of God with Rev. Jody Bewley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Church. Burial will follow in the Ronda Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Ronda Church of God.
