Ronald "Ronnie" Gray Transou, Sr.

July 4, 1941 — January 22, 2016

Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Gray Transou, Sr. age 74, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ronnie was born July 4, 1941 in Surry County to Roland and Mildred Ray Transou. He was retired from Kaplan Company and was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin. Ronnie was a veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step father, Jimmy Transou.

Survivors include: his wife, June S. Transou of the home, sons, Ronnie Transou, Jr. of Jonesville and Dusty Transou of Elkin; step son, Michael Dulay of Elkin; step daughter, Maria Dulay of Elkin; granddaughters, Cassidy Transou and Solana Transou; sister, Jamie Leonard; step sisters, Anna, Vicky, and Dolly, and aunts, Edith Layell, Sallie Tulbert and Sally Golliher.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elkin with Dr. Rick Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Elkin, 110 Gwyn Ave., Elkin, NC 28621 or Pruitt Hospice, 560 Johnson Ridge Road, Elkin, NC 28621.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Hospice and Forsyth Medical Center for their care.
