Katherine Nixon Wilmoth

Mrs. Katherine Nixon Wilmoth, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wilmoth was born May 30, 1935 in Surry County to Harvey and Ethel Shores Carter.

Mrs. Wilmoth was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Cockerham and Eralee Durham; brother, Ralph Carter.

Survivors include;  her son, Jeff Nixon of Jonesville; brothers, Leamon Carter and wife Doris of Elkin, Barry Carter and wife Vivian Elkin and Danny Carter of Elkin; sister, Annie Faye Greene of Jonesville; granddaughter, Misty Lynch and husband Chuck of High Point and great-grandson, Charlie Lynch.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
