Pearl Hinson Luffman

Mrs. Pearl Hinson Luffman, 94, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Luffman was born April 7, 1921 in Surry County to Claude and Laura Smoot Hinson

Mrs. Luffman was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Luffman; a grandson, Richard Scott Luffman; her stepmother, Lola Reynolds Hinson; four brothers, Carl, Boyce, Howard, and Harvie Hinson and one sister, Vetreal Mastin.

Survivors include: her children, Dicky and Pat Luffman of State Road, Linda and Jerry Ross of King,  Anna and Rick Woodruff , William (Billy) and Joan Luffman all of State Road, Grandchildren Tony and Ann Smith , Justin Woodruff all of State Road, Ryan and Kelly Ross of Kernersville, Ashley and Aaron Campbell of Greensboro, Whitney Luffman and  fiancée Adam Sukonick of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Tyler Smith of State Road, Braelyn Campbell of Greensboro; a special friend, Mary Hinson of Elkin.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Smith and Rev. Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends and guests following the services in the church fellowship hall.  Mrs. Luffman will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
