Joan Marie Walker

Mrs. Joan Marie Walker, 80, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015.  Mrs. Walker was born November 26,1935 in Bangor, Maine to Fernald and Beatrice Duprey Bailey.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Walker and a brother, Sonny Bailey.

Survivors include, three sons, Robert Fernald Walker and wife Melissa of Yadkinville, Michael Deane Walker of Clemmons, Mark Richard Walker and wife Dana of Jonesville, a brother, Richard Bailey of Elkin, four grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Joshua Miles and wife Meredith of Vilseck, Germany, Amber Walker, Sierra Walker, Athan Wilson all of Yadkinville, two great grandchildren, Logan and Dillon Miles of Vilseck, Germany, three sisters-in-law, Jean Sample of Vero Beach, Fla, Dorothy Gordon and Joyce Walker, a brother-in-law, Dick Walker all of Maine, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Mitch Smith and Monroe Wagoner officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestwood memorial gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
