Edith Holcomb Wright

Mrs. Edith Holcomb Wright, age 89, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare. Mrs. Wright was born December 19, 1925 in Surry County to Wint C. and Dora B. Holcomb.

Mrs. Holcomb was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Wright; son, William “Buck” Kay Wright; Daughter, Angela Wright Ragan; brothers, Burr Holcomb, Bill Holcomb, Lee Holcomb, Ira Holcomb, Joe Holcomb and Fred Holcomb and sister, Ruby Marion.

Survivors include: her son, Robert “Bobby” Wright and wife Kristie of Elkin; daughter, Crystal Walker and husband Rex of State Road; grandchildren, Latoshia Wright Caudle, Sheia Hanlin, Ras Walker, Hardin Walker , Charles Walker and Kay Wright Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Abigail Caudle and James Caudle.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Lyles officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
