Hazel Reid Cheek

September 18, 1929 — November 24, 2015

Mrs. Hazel Reid Cheek, age 86, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cheek was born September 18, 1929 in Forsyth County to Cabel and Eleanor Reid Newsome. Mrs. Cheek was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia Ann Walker and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include: her husband, Dewey Cheek, Jr. of the home; son, Randy Cheek and wife Dawn of State Road; grandchildren, Sean Cheek and wife Megan, Adam Walker and wife Emily and Kayla Robertson and husband Zach; great-grandchildren, Colin Robertson, Asher Robertson, Cooper Cheek, Carson Walker and Mason Walker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 199 Mining School Rd. State Road, NC 28676.
