Betty Dimmette Lyon

Mrs. Betty Dimmette Lyon, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Elkin. Mrs. Lyon was born November 5, 1930 in Wilkes County to Roger and Nellie Parks Dimmette. Mrs. Lyon was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church and retired after 23 years from the United States Postal Service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Dimmette. Survivors include: her husband of 64 years, Baxter F. Lyon; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Donna Lyon of Ronda; daughter, Penny Lyon of Ronda; and grandson Brandon Lyon and his wife Kayla of Vanceboro. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. Gwyn Anderson officiating. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that memorials be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church, 1161 Little Elkin Church Road, Ronda, NC 28670. The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Health and Hospice for their care.
