Mrs. Hallie Mae Osborne, age 92, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Osborne was born February 21, 1923 in Wilkes County to Claude and Ada Carter Newman. Mrs. Osborne was a faithful member of Ronda First Baptist and attended as long as she was able. She was retired from Chatham Manufacturing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wade Osborne, Sr.; infant son, Jerry Webster Osborne and daughter, Janet Marie Durham; grandson, Scott Durham and sons-in-law, Ralph Durham and Edward Nelson. Survivors include: her son, Charles Wade Osborne, Jr. and wife Janis of Ronda; daughters, Jean Osborne Cumbie and husband Clyde of King and Frances Osborne Nelson of Traphill; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service with Rev. Marty Nixon and Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
