William Roger Draughn

February 6, 1926 — October 19, 2015

Mr. William Roger Draughn, age 89, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at Wilkes Senior Village. Mr. Draughn was born February 6, 1926 in Wilkes County to William and Bertie Ray Draughn. Mr. Draughn was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. Mr. Draughn was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pheobe Alice Sparks Draughn. Survivors include: his daughters, Carol Carter and husband Barry of Hamptonville, Linda Oliver and husband Harvey of Hamptonville and Debbie Haynes of Roaring River; grandchildren, Chad Carter, Ryan Oliver and Kim Trivette; great-grandchildren, Trevor Trivette and Evelyn Trivette. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church with Rev. Matty Ponce-de-Leon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
