Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Parks, age 79, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. Mrs. Parks was born November 11, 1935 in the Bronx, NY to John Wellenreiter and Margaret Smola. She was a long time resident of Miami, FL. and for the last 35 years a resident of Wilkes county. Mrs. Parks was a member of Roaring River United Methodist Church and was retired from Wal-Mart in Wilkesboro. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen Bumgarner and a brother, Ritchie Smola. Survivors include: her husband, Julius Parks of the home; son, Ronnie Fiermonte and his wife Marcie Perry of Cooper City, FL; daughters, Ramona Miskevich and her husband Eddie of N. Wilkesboro, Deborah Fiermonte of Florida and Donna Hill and her husband Josh of Wilkesboro; brother, Bob Smola of Florida; three-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Greg Richard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
