Andrew Jackson "Jack" Blackburn

June 14, 1942 — August 26, 2015

Mr. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Blackburn, age 73, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Mr. Blackburn was born June 14, 1942 in Surry County to John and Ola Hart Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn attended Charity United Methodist Church and was a Charter Member of Benham Ruritan Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Survivors include: his wife Kattie Blackburn of the home; daughter, Karen B. Durham and husband Scott of N. Wilkesboro; brothers, James Blackburn of Newport, N.C. and Dean Blackburn of Elkin; granddaughter, Kary Durham and Fiance Ethan Creed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Charity United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Smith and Donnie Poplin officiating. Burial will follow at Durham Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers the family request that you do a random act of kindness for someone in Jack's memory.
