Mrs. Angelene Holcomb Collins, age 87, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Collins was born February 7, 1928 in Yadkin County to Jones and Cora Swaim Holcomb. Mrs. Holcomb was a member of West Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Collins and brothers, Albert Holcomb and Ernest Holcomb. Survivors include: her son, Ronald James Collins and wife Deborah Simmons of Elkin; brother, Harold Holcomb and wife Carolyn of Boonville; sister, Connie Hobson and husband Junior of Yadkinville; granddaughters, Nicole Collins Pearson of Wilmington and Heather Collins Swain and husband Cory of State Road; great-grandchild, Emery Pearson of Wilmington. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wayne Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
