Rev. Richard Kelly Luffman, age 81, triumphantly entered Heaven on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Mr. Luffman was born April 7, 1934 in Wilkes County to Richard Carl and Claire Forest Norman Luffman. Mr. Luffman was a veteran of the U.S. Arm. He spent 6 months in Germany and remained in the reserves for six years due to Vietnam War and was discharged April 18, 1958. Mr. Luffman was the pastor at Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wilkesboro, NC. He was a salesman for Brendle's for several years and retired as a salesman for Moseley & Reece Wholesale, Inc. after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and collecting model trains, cars, knives and shopping. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey Luffman, Frank Luffman and Everett Luffman; sisters, Rosa Lee Bauguess and Gladys Owen. Survivors include: his wife, Doris Evelyn Park Luffman of the home; sister, Rachel Ann Luffman Nelson of State Road; brothers, Roby Wayne Luffman and wife Ann of State Road and Dennis Ray Luffman and wife Barbara of Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Carol Luffman of State Road, Geraldine Luffman of Jonesville and Lovonne Luffman of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews and beloved pets, Shadow and Smokey. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. James Talent and Rev. Bobby Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
