Julia Holthouser Richards, passed away, July 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents Branch M. and Grace Rankin McNeely, brothers, Branch and Rankin McNeely, sister, Jean McNeely, husband's, Manuel Carston Holthouser and Richard Richards and son, Richard Carston Holthouser. She is survived by her three Holthouser sons: John, Will, Robert and their families: the family of her deceased son Carston and the children of her late husband Dick Richards; Pete, Judy, Scott, Tom, Anne and their families. Her request is that friends and family who wish to honor her memory may make a donation to the charity of their choice. Although she would not wish anyone to feel limited of obligated her interests included: The Richards Scholarship Fund at Warren Wilson College, Elkin Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church or the Elkin Public Library. A memorial service will be held at the Elkin Presbyterian Church on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A second memorial service will be held at the Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church in Swannanoa, North Carolina, the date to be determined later.
