Marie Frances Norman

Marie Frances Norman, age 93, passed away Saturday June 27, 2015 at Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Norman was born May 13, 1922 in Surry County to Charlie and Lula Waddell Collins. Mrs. Norman retired from Chatham Manufacturing and also worked several years as a private duty CNA. Mrs. Norman was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mayhue Hemric; Her second husband, Clifford Norman, a son Charlie Hugh Hemric, and two sisters, Mable Couch, and Willie Settle. Survivors include, a daughter Christine Bumgarner and husband George of Elkin, a sister, Lucille Newton of Greensboro, grandchildren, Joey Taylor and wife Lisa of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Taylor of Colorado, Kristi Hemirc and Dwight Hemric both of Elkin, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 pm prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to Elkin Valley Baptist Church 118 N. Elkin Dr. Elkin, NC 28621.
