Mrs. Shirley Jay Bedwell, age 63, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Bedwell was born May 21, 1952 in Cumberland County, N.J. to Anthony and Janet Brooks Barnabei. Mrs. Bedwell was of the Baptist faith and was employed at Ingles of Elkin for 16 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Toni Schillings. Survivors include: her son, Larry Wilson and wife Nicki of Ronda; daughter, Sherry Wilson and husband Tony of Elkin; three grandchildren, Rickey Wilson, Dakota Wilson and Mia Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Rickey Wilson, Marion Wilson, Styles Wilson, Daniel Santiago and Natalia Santiago. The family will receive friends Saturday evening June 27, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621.
