Mr. Walter Franklin "Frank" Petree, Sr., age 80, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Petree was born in Forsyth County to Lewis Henry and Edith Pitts Petree. Mr. Petree was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death sister, Peggy Couch. Survivors include his wife, Vera Nelson Petree of the home; son, Walter Franklin Petree, Jr. of State Road; daughters, Ava Lyn Petree of Elkin and Edith Luanne Petree of Elkin; sister, Eleanor Green and husband Edward of Clingman; five grandchildren, Amber Schosser, Zebediah Jordan, Krissy Jordan, Brittany Petree and Dana Prevette and five great-grandchildren, Dalton Wood, Alyssa Schosser, Hannah Schosser, Gabriel Cross and Makaila Schosser. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. A graveside service will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017 or SECU House, 1970 Baldwin Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
