Mr. Jeremy Matthew Darnell, age 37, passed away, Friday, April 17, 2015. Mr. Darnell was born November 7, 1977 in Surry County to Edward and Patricia Luffman Darnell. Jeremy was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Lois Darnell. Survivors include: his parents, Edward and Patricia Darnell of State Road; daughter, Anna Grace Darnell of Mooresville; sister, Keely Tharpe and husband John of Elkin; niece, Taylor Tharpe; nephews, Daniel Tharpe and Matthew Tharpe. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Smith, Rev. Adam Darnell and Rev. Michael Darnell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family requests memorials be made to SECU, P.O. Box 346, Elkin, NC 28621 to establish a scholarship fund for Anna Grace.
