Mrs. Hallie Brown Lyon, age 99, passed away, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare of Elkin. Mrs. Lyon was born March 14, 1916 in Wilkes County to Luther and Frownie Scott Brown. Mrs. Lyon was a member of Austin Baptist Church and was an avid gardener, sewer and cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lyon; daughter, Beverly Lyon; brother, Bill Brown and daughter-in-law, Victoria Lyon. Survivors include: her sons, Billy W. Lyon and wife Shelby of Traphill and Herman Lyon of Traphill; sister, Ruby Billings of Sparta; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Brian Wiles and Rev. John Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Healthcare for their care.
