Mr. Wesley Myers Holcomb, age 81, passed away Sunday March 22, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Holcomb was born January 18, 1934 in Yadkin County to Clinton Jones and Rosa Sprouse Holcomb, Sr. Mr. Holcomb retired from the Town of Jonesville as town clerk after 20 years of service and was a member of Jonesville First United Methodist Church where he served as a member of the Methodist men. Mr. Holcomb was a past member of the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 20 years. In addition to his parents Mr. Holcomb was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, C.J. Holcomb, Jr. and his wife Mary Edwards Holcomb. Survivors include, his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Henderson Holcomb of the home, a son, John W. Holcomb of Jonesville, nieces and nephews, Don and Janice Mitchell, Blake and Sharon Mitchell, Jeff and Lori Holcomb, Gregg and Sherry Holcomb and Patti and Guy Griffin. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Jonesville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Davis and Rev. Ken Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Jonesville, 305 West Main Street, Jonesville, NC 28642.
