Mr. James Claude "Jamie" Billings, age 40, passed away, Monday, March 9, 2015. Mr. Billings was born March 17, 1974 in Surry County to Claude Billings and Mary Ann Crouse Colbert. Survivors include: his father, Claude Billings of Elkin; mother, Mary Ann Colbert of Elkin; step-mother, Ruth Billings of West Jefferson; brothers, Rodney Lee Thomas and wife Patsy of Jameston and Terry Billings and wife Missy of Elkin; sisters, Drema Brooks and husband Eric of Traphill and Claudia Byrd and husband Darrell of Elkin; nephews, Caleb, Darrell, Danny, David and R.J.; nieces, Erica and Brianna; special cousins, Carlie, Caylee, Ryan and Cameron. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Stoltzfus and Brother Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
