Clarence Herman "Rocky" Russell, Jr.

Mr. Clarence Herman "Rocky" Russell, Jr. age 74, passed away Saturday, February 07, 2015. Mr. Russell was born December 8, 1940 in Pittsville, Maine to Clarence Herman "Benjamin" and Allison Brown Russell. Mr. Russell was a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also a past member of the VFW Post 1115 in Hillsville, Va. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, his wife, Lynda Lanning Russell of the home, three sons, Buddy Russell of Elkin, Chris Russell of Lexington, Bronson Russell and his wife Tiffany of Thurmond, a brother, Rodney Russell and wife Dot of Bar Harbor, Maine, two sisters, Loretta Lock and husband Jimmy of Lyman, New Hampshire, Loraine Juardo and husband Gil of Littleton, New Hampshire, three grandchildren, Justin Russell, Ryan Russell and Beth Russell, one great granddaughter, Cheyenne Russell. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1pm at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Jeremy Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 10346 and the National Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm prior to the service.
