Mr. Larry Dale Medley, age 69, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. Mr. Medley was born December 13, 1945 in Yadkin County to Lucian and Nora Royal Medley. Mr. Medley was a member of Middle Cross Baptist Church of N. Wilkesboro and retired from Louisiana Pacific. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James M. Medley. Survivors include: his wife, Jackie H. Medley of the home; brothers, Vernon Medley and wife Mildred of Elkin and Ted Medley and wife Donnice of Elkin; special pet, Callie; special foster son, Cory Wilmoth and wife Kimberly of State Road; special niece and nephew, Tammy and Carl Handy of Roaring River; niece, Paula Moore and husband Greg of Dobson; special nephew Marty Medley and many other special nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jason Whitley and Rev. Jerry Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family request memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621 or Middle Cross Baptist Church Building Fund, 2305 Rock Creek Road, N. Wilkesboro, NC 28659. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, Dr. Nabors and staff and Dr. Albright and staff for their care.
