Mary Rose Blackman

February 20, 1927 — January 24, 2015

Jonesville Mary Rose Blackman, age 87, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Elkin. Mrs. Blackman was born February 20, 1927 in Surry County to Thomas W. and Mary Etta McBride Rose. Mrs. Blackman was a retired Nurse and a member of Arlington First Baptist Church. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Sayles and wife Yexell, Casey Sayles and wife Renee, two daughters, Mary Etta Sayles Snow and Husband Randall, Shannon Gastrich and husband Rex, one sister, Dixie Rose Sawyer, and grandchildren, Justin Snow, Courtney Snow, Amber Sayles, Jason Gastrich, Shyla Sayles and Hayley Sayles. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington First Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Childress officiating. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103-2918.
