Melrose Temple

April 15, 1932 — January 22, 2015

Mrs. Melrose Cooper Temple, age 82, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. Mrs. Temple was born April 15, 1932 in Surry County to Grady Cline, Sr. and Martha Leona Shore Cooper. Mrs. Temple was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and Christian. Mrs. Temple was very involved in her church and enjoyed quilting and sewing and was a great cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, G.C. Cooper, Jr. and grandson, Jeremy Dylan Spainhour. Survivors include: her son, Bruce Alan Temple of Jonesville; daughters, Donna Temple and husband Chuck of Asheville, Teresa Temple Thompson and husband Steve of Ayden, NC, Sandra Temple Shank and husband Greg of Carey, NC and Kelly Temple Wagoner and husband Todd of Kissimee, FL; brother, Jackie Cooper and wife Barbara of Elkin; sisters, Mildred Mitchell of Winston Salem, Linda Covington and husband Rick of Winston Salem and Wanda Swaim and husband Ronnie of Elkin; grandchildren, Jillian Shank Davis and husband Staton, Jesse Spainhour and Paul Shank; great-grandchild, Jude Davis. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Jonesville First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made of the donor's choice.
