Mrs. Marguerite Register Ledford, age 90 passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Carillion Assisted Living. Mrs. Ledford was born February 20, 1924 in Charleston, S.C. to George Richard and Mabell Beach Register. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, C. A. Ledford. Survivors include: her daughters, Glenda Troutman and husband Joel of Harrisburg, N.C. and Beverly Ledford of Harrisburg, N. C.; sister, Lois Boney of Clinton, N.C.; grandchildren, Melanie Downs, Keith Downs and Jenny Hite; special friend and neighbor, Delphine Tester of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
