Ms. Zonda Martin Pruitt, age 76, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Ms. Pruitt was born April 14, 1938 in Alleghany County to Elmer Greene and Zola Althea Wagoner Pruitt. Survivors include: her lifetime companion, John Dale Brooks of Sparta; brother, Loyal Dean Pruitt and wife Beverly of Sparta; sister, Bertrice Spicer and husband Lonnie of South Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodruff Cemetery in Roaring Gap. The family would like to thank Zonda's special caregivers Dorothy Murray Crouse and Michelle Wagoner for their care.
