Mrs. Virginia Belle Morgan Blackburn, age 80, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Blackburn was born August 9, 1934 in Waycross, GA to Lovette Aubrey and Ruby Chaffin Morgan. Mrs. Blackburn was a member of the United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Blackburn, Sr. and brother, Lovette Aubrey Morgan, Jr. Survivors include: her son, William Paul "Bill" Blackburn, Jr. and wife Connie of Hamptonville; daughter, Peggy Ann Blackburn of Elkin; step-grandson, Jamie Swisher of Charlotte, NC. The family will hold a service at a later date. Memorials may be made to Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27018 or American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Rd. Raleigh, NC 27607. The family would like to thank the staff at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their care.
