Mrs. Evelyn I. Shores, age 79, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville. Mrs. Shores was born June 7, 1935 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to Theodore and Grace Moore Issacs. Mrs. Shores was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wallace Cox and Ed Issacs; daughter, Mary Ellen Shores. Survivors include: her husband, Daniel C. Shores of the home; sons, Randy Shores and wife Teresa, Michael Shores and wife Mary Etta and Tommy Shores; daughters, Sue Robins and husband John, Linda Shores and Julia Patterson and husband Terry; brothers, Jack Issacs and wife Judy and Daniel Issacs and wife Polly; sister, Carolyn Kester; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Charity Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Cardwell, Rev. Mickey Brooks and Rev. Claude Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to thank the staff of Gordon Hospice House for their care.
