Cecil Winebarger

January 31, 1946 — November 9, 2014

Mr. Cecil Ray Winebarger, age 68, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. Mr. Winebarger was born January 31, 1946 in Surry County to Charlie Winebarger and Faye Russell Hayes. Mr. Winebarger was Co-Owner of Winebarger Ford Motor Company in Elkin and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Char Winebarger and three brothers. Survivors include: his life long companion and friend, Elizabeth Winebarger of Elkin; daughters, Deda Pickett and husband Don of State Road and Reja Couch and husband Dale of Yadkinville; brothers, William Winebarger of State Road, Garry Winebarger of Fayetteville and Mark Hayes of Virginia; sisters, Barbara Adams of Hamptonville, Ailene Wilhelm of State Road, Polly Finley of Jonesville, Ginger Hayes of Durham and Candy Hayes of Concord; grandchildren, Ike Winebarger of Rural Hall, Raechel Harris of Mooresville, Hannah Winebarger of Elkin, Jake Pickett of State Road and Kellen Couch of Yadkinville; great-grandchild, Thomas Winebarger of Vale, NC. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley and Rev. Roger Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
