Mr. Walter Ray Hemric, age 74, passed away, Sunday, November 2, 2014. Mr. Hemric was born August 21, 1940 in Surry County to James H. and Vergie Eva Bryant Hemric. Mr. Hemric was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. He actively supported East Wilkes High School Athletic program by providing them snacks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lottie Swift. Survivors include: his son, Gregory James Hemric and wife Lynn of Ararat, NC; daughter, Lori Hemric Jones and husband Kenny of Walnut Cove; grandchildren, Carla Ann Hemric, Hannah Leigh Hemric, Hunter Lloyd Jones, Landon Ray Jones and Makaela Hope Jones. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Pastor Garry Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
