Joan Lane Stowe

August 18, 1925 — October 25, 2014

Mrs. Joan Lane Stowe, age 89 of State Road, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014. She was born August 18, 1925 in Surry County to John and Lillie Carter Lane. Mrs. Stowe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener, quilter and along with her husband John traveled extensively in their RV. Mrs. Stowe was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John H. Stowe. Survivors include her son, Alan L. Stowe and his wife Lydia of Summerfield; daughter Linda S. Greer and her husband Greg of Cornelius; grandchildren, Lindsay Lima and her husband Tim, Brandon Stowe Greer and Tatiana Stowe Greer; great grandchildren, Spencer Lima and Graham Lima. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, PO Box 981, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their care.
