Mrs. Elaine Ross Gentry, age 78, passed away, Thursday, October 09, 2014. Mrs. Gentry was born January 13, 1936 in Henry County, VA to James and Ruth Macy Ross. Mrs. Gentry was a member of Benham Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress at Lucia. Survivors include: her husband, Raymond Gentry of the home; sons, Mark Gentry and wife Velvet of Elkin and Scott Gentry of the home; brother, Alton Ross and wife Joyce of Greensboro; sister, Janice Ross of N. Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Zachary Gentry of Jamestown and Emily Gentry of Boone; special cousin, Mary Ruth Fisher of Winston Salem; aunt, Christine Robinson; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Andrew and family, Amanda Ross, Robin and Alex Smith and family, Lisa and Kent Smith and family, Greg Ross, Kristy Reece and family; special extended family, Tony, Allison, Madison and Mallory Spaglonetti. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Benham Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Reeves and Rev. Julius Blevins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge St. Elkin, NC 28621.
