Mr. James Boyce Johnson, age 82, passed away, Monday, October 6, 2014. Mr. Johnson was born November 25, 1931 in Yadkin County to John Z. and Ida Lola Irvin Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of Grace Full Gospel Church and attended Jonesville School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea. Mr. Johnson retired from Textile Freight in Statesville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Johnson and Billy Johnson and sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson. Survivors include: his wife Vicki C. Johnson of the home; four sons; one step-son; four daughters; two step-daughters; brother, Willis Johnson; sister, Dorothy Simmons; seventeen grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Full Gospel Church with Rev. Bobby Prevette and Rev. Eugene Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family request that memorials be made to the Parkinson's Association, 5970 Fairview Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210.
