Mrs. Dorothy [Dragica] Lalich McKichan, age 70, passed away, Monday, September 29, 2014. Mrs. McKichan was born September 28, 1944 in Drenoc-Klanac, Brlok, Yugoslavia to Ilija and Kata Buterin Lalic. Mrs. McKichan attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was an active car show attender and in her younger years enjoyed playing golf, baseball and volleyball. She was the owner of a Lawncare Service in Canada and in Elkin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gordon McKichan and her brother, George Lalich and wife Ann. Survivors include: her son, Timothy Paul McKichan and fiancée Amy Kepley of Mooresville; brother, Milan Lalich and wife Strina Amkica of Ontario, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Dennis Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3982 Clingman Rd. Ronda, NC 28670 or Hospice of Rowan County, 1229 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144. The family would like to thank the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center ICU and Rehab.
