Mrs. Carolyn Faye Southard, age 59, passed away, Sunday, September 28, 2014. Mrs. Southard was born November 24, 1954 in Patrick County, VA to Dewey and Margaret Hall Hazelwood. Mrs. Southard was a member of Bessie's Chapel. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Riddle and sister, Patsy Marshall. Survivors include: her husband, Jimmy Southard of the home; mother, Margaret Hall Williams and step-father, Joel Williams of State Road; step-mother, Louise Hazelwood of Burlington; son, Barry Vipperman and wife Jennifer of Claudeville, VA; daughter, Lisa Goins and husband Billy of Stuart, VA; step-sons, Dean Southard and wife Teresa of Yadkinville and Jason Southard of Yadkinville; step-daughters, Melinda Williford and husband Daniel of W. Jefferson and Kristy Southard of Wilkesboro; brother, Clifford Hazelwood of Burlington; sisters, Beverly Riddle of Stuart, VA, Elaine Sitterle of Clemson, SC, Linda Stainfield of Mebane and Donice Cantrell of Burlington; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Groce and Rev. Bobby Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC, 27017.
