Tracy Hollister "Holly" Smith Watson, age 48, of Elkin, NC passed away suddenly Thursday, September 4, 2014. Holly was a loving daughter, sister, wife and friend. She spent most of her early life in Greensboro, NC where she started her career as a mortgage broker. She then moved to Carlsbad, N.M. to own her own mortgage company. Upon marrying Steve Watson she moved back to North Carolina making Elkin her hometown. Holly was an avid reader, collector of antique china, fine French copper and had an immense passion for animals. Holly had an infectious personality, amazing sense of humor and a wicked quick wit. She was a generous person who always put others before herself. Holly is on her way to Heaven to be her beloved "MeMe". Survivors include: Biological father, Vermont Austin Cowan of Texas; adoptive father, Jack Curtis Smith of Greensboro; mother, Carol Angel Hogue of Florida; husband, Robert Steven Watson of the home; sisters, Heather Jaqueline Smith of Florida and Ashley Elizabeth Smith of Greensboro; nephew, Christopher Austin Alexander French; nieces, Jessica Nicole Starke and Jordan Christine Smith. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Bill Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Surry County Humane Society or Greensboro Human Society, 4527 West Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC 27409.
