Mr. George William "Bill" Davidson, age 86, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Davidson was born September 10, 1927 in Olin, NC to Teddy Ray and Dura Mowbray Davidson. Mr. Davidson served in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner of Bill Davidson Chevrolet in Elkin and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Galliher Davidson; brother, Gilbert Davidson. Survivors include: his wife, Betty S. Davidson of the home; sons, Daryl Davidson of Elkin, Gary Pardue of Elkin, Carlton Davidson and wife Nancy of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Kevin Pardue and wife Terri of Raleigh; daughter, Tina Hodges and husband Tony of Mooresville; brother, Kenneth Davidson of N. Wilkesboro; sister, Virginia Parks and husband Sherrill of Troutman, N.C.; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Russ Nixon and Rev. David Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church 1467 Cool Springs Ch. Rd. Elkin, N.C. 28621.
