John Robert Travis

April 12, 1955 — July 19, 2014

Mr. John Robert Travis, age 59 of Elkin passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1955 in Boyd County Kentucky to Leroy and Edna Mae Waller Travis. Mr. Travis was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Boonville. Survivors include his wife, Lucille N. Travis of the home; daughter, Rosemarie Adkins Prosser and husband Eugene of Davisboro, GA; brother, Bill Travis and his wife Sharon of Wilkesboro; sister-in-law, Marlene Apicella of Elkin; grandchildren, James Tyler Prosser and William Kyle Prosser. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Charity Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Driver officiating. The family would like to thank his coworkers, especially Eric Lewellyn, Ken McDonald, Megan and Christina and Rev. Eddie and Johnnie Sue Driver for their care.
